2023-10-29: Murdoch (and, minimally, Chan) appeared last night. Was a good thread even before their appearance.
AtH: Found ComfyUI's inpainting. (ComfyUI tutorial.) If I get this done, I still need to AI up-resolution the Republiphant (I've tried to simply up-resolution the existing image, but it has some grain which bigjpg.com smooths out, badly, despite a few variations. (I mean, what if I just do cubic interpolation, and add a bit of noise or other effects? It doesn't need to increase by much. edit: cubic was indeed good enough, especially since the image wasn't getting physically bigger, just denser.) Told Murdoch about what was left to do, and he said he liked the idea of people generating the pictures with AI. That would indeed be neat, and I'd love to see someone skilled do it but that's a long, artistic process and I'm trying to get done. edit: Well, the reason I couldn't use online in-fillers was because they only allow up to 500 pixels on a side. So, am going to chop the bottom, land part of the (right edge of the) cover image into three pieces, outfill them, and put them back together. ComfyUI is just too complicated.
blog: I'll just register here that, some hits came from Wikipedia, though there are no articles there. My guess is, that someone wanted to make a page, and wikipedia talked about it, but it's been squelched so far. But the show is on imdb, and the ADL doesn't say 'boo' about it - never underestimate the power of people to fool themselves that some faggy show is just fun and games. I mean, Nazis are fascinating, and the issues are the most powerful ones possible - the existence and well-being of your race, if you are lucky enough to have one.

2023-10-25: AtH: Installed ComfyUI to generate the extra edge of the front cover, and hopefully also AI-upres the Republiphant picture. (Online ones wouldn't do images as large as the cover. I suppose, though, that I could shrink the cover, outfill it, then AI-upscale the final result, it would be better than just dragging the right edge of the picture out.

2023-10-23: AtH: Got rid of blue splotches on the left edge of the AtH cover image (https://archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/346102042/#346119620). You don't notice them, but, they're there. Gonna smart-infill the right edge of the cover, because the printer wants 1/4" extra all around. The top and bottom are not a problem, I'm going to have to cut some of that off anyway - the image's aspect ratio is taller than the book's.

2023-10-21: AtH: Much grinding on the covers, front and back.

2023-10-20: AtH: Kicked off two things which might be good.
Traffic has dropped so fast over the last two weeks (guardian views: 200+ -> 76) - sure, it might be the final battle coming to life so that MM seems tame, but I almost feel it has to be some source of traffic has cut off. Like, the site has gotten blacklisted somewhere. It's not obvious, whatever it is.

2023-10-19: AtH: Front cover done, or, if my taste changes, I can easily modify it thanks to inkscape. Spine, and back cover, now. Thinking about a glossary again. Glamim, Parian marble - but really it needs a bunch of links to wikipedia, ie, a page on this site. Or, just a one-line description, and interested people can dig more. I don't see it as a bad thing, just something for convenience. What feels insulting is when I feel I explain obvious things, like who Helios was / is. But even that, what's the harm? It lets people stay in the story, maybe. By chapter and page, so you can quickly find whether it's in the glossary. Now the question, what level of reader am I anticipating, how 'simple' of things shall I explain? edit: The glossary is rough-drafted, but I so hate the idea of me mediating between the reader and Murdoch, that I hate 'my' presence in the glossary. Something strange is going on, that I feel so strongly, on completely opposite sides. Another argument against a glossary, is that it deprives people of the pleasure of their own discovery. For those who take the trouble to look things up, anyway.
Eeeeeh, some of the quotes about MM I have, are not friendly to putting on the back of a book I'd like to keep in print without having to change printers too often. Put 'em inside, instead, with just, more anodyne quote(s) on the back? edit: I'm complaining about the back, and the front has a swastika on it. (That's going to stay, no way I'm going to take that off.)

2023-10-16: AtH: Working on the front cover. It looks like it's going to be easier in inkscape than it was in gimp. Am trading height (more things in the book) for speed (making the self-imposed Nov 5th deadline) at this point. (Have had a fair few people ask wheeeeeen?)

2023-10-13: Whoa! Millennial Woes got in touch with the site thinking I was Murdoch, and I hope I'm not / I don't believe I am, giving away confidences, but he wanted to ask the Murdochs onto Millenniyule 2023. What a great thing that would be have been! I told him the only real, known way to get something in front of Murdoch's eyes. At first I thought, 'fat chance' (I didn't say so of course), buuut, at least part of the reason Murdoch doesn't appear is because he doesn't trust anyone, but it occurred to me, that Woes has been around forever and he's been consistent that I'm aware of, so, more than almost anyone, he has a shot at raising Murdoch. I hope Woes goes for it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. edit: I don't see any 'spycraft' messages. (You know, with all the people I've told how to get Murdoch to see something, none has used it. Everyone would prefer a private, cozy chat.)
AtH: Corrected capitalizations of 'earth'. Have confirmed, that the Dedication comes before the Table of Contents.

2023-10-10: AtH: Got the table of contents looking reasonable. Next is the back front cover (the separating line looks too thin to me now).

2023-10-06: AtH: Made the top of the left pages look good, worked on beautifying the Table of Contents.

2023-10-05: AtH: Built a rough glossary, but it feels a bit lame, and maybe patronizing, that I think people can't look up their own words. On the other hand it's got one treasure that I wouldn't want people to miss, 'Parian marble' (YouTube). So .. I'll sleep on it at least. And the significance of the Gladius Hispaniensis, but Murdoch explains that. Maybe I'll put a bunch of links on the site, as a compromise.

2023-10-04: AtH: Looking at the publisher (being coy because I'm paranoid that some spoiler will get in and warn them about the book), and hey! So cheap! Good quality paperback: $6.97. Hardcover, which, I so love the book now that I'm actually leaning that way: $14.93. Eh, but, they double the price to include distribution fees, pushing us back toward the softcover. ('Distribution fees'? Storage? Acting as fulfillment, I guess?) I guess I'll try to do both - I want a hard cover, maybe others will, too. Maybe later, though, in case any last-minute flaws crop up.

2023-10-03: AtH: Moved page numbers to the tops of pages.
First blood on widows and orphans. (It is very fiddly. Iirc LaTeX managed it all automatically.) Chapter Two, de-widowed + orphaned! I'm on fire! :) (It requires real focus if you try to keep changes minimal.)
All of them! Wooo! I am a book-making boss. If you ever wonder why books seem to sometimes barely-perceptibly change font size, and wonder wtf went wrong, what was so hard about keeping things consistent, well, they did that to avoid: widows and orphans! Single lines at the top or bottom of a page, or maybe single-word sentences at the end of a paragraph.

2023-09-30: AtH: Added some needed italics. Broke it into sections so that the front matter is numbered i,ii,iii...

2023-09-29: AtH: Decisions about capitalization.

2023-09-28: AtH: Dedication, foreword. Having looked at last year's 'fan version', am going to change some things back to that style, a bit. Theodore Runin's review, and now foreword (that was Murdoch's idea), is quite positive.

2023-09-27: Put up Jared Taylor explaining race differences in the 'Race Realism in Two and a Half Minutes' clip episode details. Duh - but better late than never. Should make my own race-realism video - I'd start out with a DNA PCA plot. Sadly, I don't get much indication that people are moving on to the harder stuff, but it's hard to tell anyway, because the 'hard stuff' links mostly go off-site. I guess I could sign up to SimilarWeb or somewhere, to find out where people go.

2023-09-26: Renewed the site into early 2025. Last year (2022), mid-year, I looked at the traffic trend and thought it'd go to 0 by the end of this year (2023). I'm happy to say it doesn't look that way, though traffic has dropped by 1/3 or so.
merch: Made and put up an AI-upscaled 'Chase the Sun' poster. It looks fine. The 'Always the Horizon' book cover which also wants to be a poster, has an aspect ratio that doesn't fit Viralstyle's dimensions that well. So, I am forced to choose how much to cut off of the top and bottom, or else leave white margins on the side. I almost prefer that - let people get out scissors and have an accurate final poster. Because, none of my choices for what to cut off look good to me.
Accepted $100 from a friend of the site who uses the site to redpill people, which is what the site is all about. My thanks to him.
AtH: Putting in the front matter.

2023-09-25: AtH: Table of contents begun (it's ugly and primitive though - needs work).
Uploaded Argent Beacon's versions of Zoar - the first 3 episodes are better than the ones I got from bitchute. (I wonder where he got them from? The Zoar man himself apparently lost them and Argent Beacon's are the best remaining. They might be original quality, could he have gotten them from Zoar's website while it was up or something?). Also re-rendering them for streaming. It's a shame Zoar lost the originals.

2023-09-24: AtH: Trundling, cleaning.

2023-09-23: blog: My little 4plebs search almost missed this thread. Was that Murdoch at the end, with 'READ THE BOOK'? It's not like him to yell, but who else would be frustrated at people grabbing for his attention? Poor Murdoch. (Doesn't mean it's him - I see 'Murdochs' everywhere. If it was him, though, it means he still cares, and, still checks into MM threads).
AtH: Finished proof-reading (also doing italics, noting things that need an entry in the glossary etc). In chapter 10, Murdoch the Sacred Clown reminds Liu Bei that 'man is wolf to man', and Writer Anon added an illustration about 'bodies buried inside the Great Wall'. Well, I thought that was cool, a great addition, but I looked it up and apparently it's a myth. So I compromised and said, 'How about along the Great Wall?'. Well, I've felt bad even about that (wasn't sure it was truthful), but I just looked that up, and there were indeed many battles fought at and through the Great Wall, so there probably are lots of bodies buried along it. Phew. Had been contemplating removing that addition. Come to think of it though, those battles would have been defensive - hardly evidence of the Han's own bloodthirst. Ehn.... Ima leave it - the people who invaded became Han - right? 'K, I need to think further. edit: Maybe find another example. The Emperor Qin ('Chin') was territory-hungry, maybe there's a name for the period of his expansion. edit: Maybe be snake-y, and say, 'you can think of the examples in your own history' (written better). Or, just leave it out.

2023-09-21: AtH: Continuing to proof-read. And, now, fiddling with the page top font. Lucida Sans looks both jarringly wrong, and, refreshingly straightforward. I don't want to fret over fonts again, though - and it's very small. Maybe even try Gil Sans.
Swapped in odysee's original, 'AntiRacist Hitler.mp4' for the .mkv version I downloaded from YouTube.

2023-09-20: AtH: Proof-read, italicized and so on, the first three chapters. Monkeyed with the tops of the interior pages. It's looking ever more like a book (<- little AtH-ism joke, there)..

2023-09-19: blog: Amazon's transcription service now adds 'toxicity detection'. It's ogre, bros. They're going to bake poz into everything digital. I can't think of a movie, as dystopian as this. Implants in the brain, for it, ultimately? You betcha. I did read a sci-fi short story about a brain chip that no longer let you distinguish race, or level of attractiveness in other people. I forget how it turned out.

2023-09-18: AtH: Moved the single-line titles up - I like this best so far. Still a little bit of awkwardness, having one-line, and two-line titles. But ehn.

2023-09-17: blog: Ha ha ha, only now noticed, after ~100 watches, that the station id on the microphone of the reporter in 'The Ghosts of America' is 'LIES'. Wonder if that's on all the TV reporter microphones?
AtH: Made a smaller, smallcaps titles version. The 'caps' were emphasis, grandness, enough, for the titles.

2023-09-16: AtH: Continued with chapter titles - tried a 15% increase in the first letters of the capitalized title as a sort of 'smallcaps' tweak to make them look more interesting. But it looks 'posh' - austere, forbidding. Maybe going back to 'plain' Lucida Sans like I'm supposed to, will fix this. Or maybe doing that, but in italics. I don't want to fuss forever though.
AtH-ish: Searching around, found that 'Always the Horizon' is pretty unique on the internet! It's kind of a nice name, I figured it'd be crowded, but it looks like Murdoch has it all to himself.
AtH-ish, blog: Found this cosmotheist-ish discussion, and the moderator(?) thinks Murdoch is junior high and cringe ("It just goes to show there's no accounting for tastes."). I'd like to put this up somewhere. Maybe I should put up a whole Cosmotheist page - apparently even Revilo P Oliver ('Which Way Western Man'? - haven't read it), and Savitri Devi were cosmotheists (or its like). To me, like to the National Alliance worker who I asked (I have a link somewhere), it's an anthropomorphization of our Faustian drive - we want to know all, become all - now wrap around that, that the universe is some sort of being (we seem to be hardwired to see things as 'beings', cf everyone's early nature gods), and, well, the universe WANTS us to know it. Anyway, this National Alliance guy, who seems to be frowned on on that board, agreed with me that it was a metaphor along this line. The fact that Devi and Revilo P Oliver (both extremely smart) also believe it, argues against the idea that Pierce did it just for the tax break. (But come on, Pierce would have too much integrity to frikken' hold services for a tax break. I wonder whether anyone recorded those services - I'd love to watch a couple). There's a line from the play Equus .. having trouble finding it, I thought there was a line, 'You become more like, that which you worship'. Well, worship truth and 'the knowing' (maybe), and your being will grow in that direction. ('Equus' is a good play, if you haven't read it. Shocking (the main guy stabs out the eyes of all the horses in the area - but they don't drag you through the experience). There's a movie, too. Anyway, very 'mode of being' imo.)

2023-09-14: AtH: Found out that 'glamim' is the plural of 'golem'. I think the book needs a glossary. I don't want to put footnotes inline, or even mark anything anywhere - it's not an academic work, it's gonna just flow. But, I think I will add a glossary / notes section with a bit of context (as is my wont. I hope Murdoch doesn't mind. I certainly will add no opinionating, at least). Ah, maybe I should just have it on the site, though physical copies of the book will outlive the site.
Speaking of flowing, had to enlarge Nihilism's font a bit to make it more readable. Still, your eye is relieved to get back to the regular font. Good idea, or whack? Maybe just go back to an ordinary smallcaps. edit: Or else, use Film Cryptic but not in smallcaps. Don't know.
AtH: Printed title pages - they look ok. Deciding between allcaps, and merely capitalized, chapter titles. Allcaps looks 'stronger', but also more monotonous. Doing a smallcaps-type trick looks really good.

2023-09-13: AtH: since amazon is out, looked a bit into IngramSpark and Lulu.com again. Lulu looks by far the easier. Who knows, maybe I'll try to sneak it onto amazon, change the name of the author a bit. I can think of a few variations that'd still be searchable. Wouldn't give that away 'til it's go time though. It'd be a stunt, a middle finger - I don't expect it'd last any real time there. Though I did buy a 'hidden', bootleg version of '200 Years Together' there once, so it's possible. edit: Eh, it wouldn't have to be searchable, I'd just link it.
blog: Looked at the bitchute channel. Comments are comfy - you feel you're in the presence of other MM-enjoyers. Wonder if I could, here, link there, for people wanting to make comments... It'd be hard to re-create the bitchute comments here exactly. The viewers at bitchute seem less hardcore than the ones at murdochmurdoch.net (no '-'). Would be nice to do, but I don't know how.
Think I'm going to put up some comfy, 'classic' /pol/ threads (which I conveniently linked from bitchute). I don't want to turn the site into a museum, but I feel compelled to gather, collect, and preserve.

2023-09-12: No one cares, but it kind of matters to me (congenitally - I can think of no actual use) - identified a couple more people in 'The Cruel Fate of Kekistan'. I never kept up with the drama + doings of the off-alt-right, but the Murdochs did (many cases). Anyway, identified The Amazing Atheist and Thunderf00t in 'Cruel Fate of Kekistan' (and corrected 'Sam Francis' -> 'Sam Harris'). The source of that 21-word prayer came from the same place (Endeavor's 'When Robespierre Posted Cringe' (YouTube), from around 14 mins in), though I may not add it - the prayer is pretty cringe-inducing all by itself, there's no extra impact in knowing its history. edit: And a third person, 'The Armoured Skeptic', by looking at the guy and googling ... 'armored skeptic'.
AtH: More rassling with the tops of chapters. I'm trying to cram a lot in, and the chapter titles are different lengths, and ... whatever, I'll get there.

2023-09-11: AtH: Lots more trial and error, resulting in progress.

2023-09-10: A hospital blocked this site. Drilling down, I saw: 'Download illegal content'. Which suggests I can get back into its good graces by hosting the books on some other site, and pointing to it. The hospital also blocked bitchute.com, therightstuff.biz, 4chan, unz.com (they have 0 excuse on this), not odysee.com or 4plebs.org.
Wonder whether I couldn't use a new category - 'For the Lulz' (by which I mean, 'carries no message', 'not serious'). Might be several: Kangz, Hwhite Knights, No Hard R, DM's No Good Week, Burqas in Bongland, Yellow Dawn, Mein Coof, both Border Runners, and then, several of the sketches.
AtH: Much good work on the chapter titles. Am tentatively using Optima. I'm breaking the rules a bit, I think: if the body font 'has character', the sans serif header is supposed to not, but, Lucida had too little character, and Optima is ok, it doesn't have so much style that it clashes (it is a semi-sans, though). In the end, there is such a thing as a book designer, and I am not one.
I wonder how many times the episodes mention, either, the fear of getting doxed, or, quitting the show? Searching through the subtitles it looks like, doxxing: your heroes journey, vidya, galaxy mm88, ..? quitting: fake + gay, against time, ..? Five total. Not as many as I had the impression of.

2023-09-08: Spent a while making this screenshot gallery. Someone asked whether I had good screenshots for desktop backgrounds, and, while MM wasn't made for that, there are a few moments that were merch-worthy (he made merch from, probably, the larger original - the White Tower at night vista, and MC and MM on their horse overlooking the valley), and maybe people can cycle through some favorite backgrounds (there are 3 levels, the last is the full, 1920x1080 .png screenshot). Those are far from being all of the worthy screenshots - not even all within any single episode. But, I had many of them for other purposes anyway. Maybe I'll put them under 'for-fans', but maybe they're not good enough for that (maybe you could get 'AI' to add detail to them somehow. bigjpg.com runs them through some process that makes them look cleaner, as well). Some people might find other uses for them, anyway, though.
AtH: Found, or was reintroduced to Optima, which is by the same guy who did Palatino. I'll have to print it to make sure I like it.

2023-09-06: merch: Found that ImageMagick will do 'seam carving', which gives me hope for another crack at removing the swastika from 'Always the Horizon', for t-shirt merch. (Better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J61ExqvNcBQ .)
merch: Also spent time, making merch and playing with free, online AI-rescaling of the AtH cover, and the Chase the Sun picture, to high-enough resolution that Viralstyle would make posters out of them. It wants you to size them according to their template, though, which I need to a) find b) figure out how to do in Gimp. Apparently, Murdoch's 'Sacred Clown Mourning Ebba' was already so sized. (Huh. Maybe just sizing the others to its aspect ratio will work.)

2023-09-04: blog: Would like every white person to watch Murdoch Murdoch. Don't know how I'd get the word out. (Maybe if I bought MM shirts for Blood Tribe :) - writing is thinking. Wonder what Murdoch thinks of them. They're not very 'Nice Guy National Socialist' - well, the old optics debate. (And didn't Murdoch himself, in the NGNS episode itself, say, "Guys, we're keeping the swastika."?) Hammer, the leader, said, in his Cantwell interview, that he's rehabilitating the use of the swastika (or whatever) - that, if people show up with it and it's always a peaceful outcome, that that will soften its image. Good point, but it would take years of doing that before that happens. I should save this for /pol/, but, what's with the 'seig heil's? Yes, it's 500% uncucked and I'm sure it feels good :) (ah, I think Blackpilled said this), but you're out there to be visible, and what are you showing people? Something larpy, trapped in the past. Talk pro-white, and real issues, and it would all be 100% spot-on. As it is, though, it comes across as: of the past, still in the past. And, a little bit sad ('these people can only find comfort in the past'. But maybe that's just my psychology). But they're making a point of being white, which is good - one of those 'bat signals', via the news, that says, 'white people are realizing they're a thing'. But what's the first thing that penetrates people's consciousness? Is it about being white, or is it about 'those evil and now ridiculous nazis'? The larpier it is, the more it prevents the connection to them. But, for young people, who are the ones that matter, maybe it's just 'kino'.)
*record scratch*, intentional or not, it could be a good thing - a message to the flesh-and-blood implementers of woke that there are nazis out there, who are willing to be led, and organized, and who knows what they'll do now, or in the future? A shot across the bow to the 'implementors', and to the Jews themselves.)
seekr.com and mojeek.com (search engines) can't handle the doubled, 'Murdoch' as something special, an n-gram. Playing with those sites, I see that Walt Bismarck comes up nicely - that wasn't always the case, even on the big search engines. Calling the main list of episodes, 'Walt Bismarck Home' was a neat trick - I meant, 'home on this site', but some search engines seem to take it as, 'The official, definitive, Ur source of Walt Bismarck'. It may as well be. It wasn't intentional, but it works for me :) (and for the world, since it doesn't have any other home). (Zoar, 2dads.tv and White Rabbit have other homes, so I won't use the same 'trick' for those.)
Ha ha ha, ~20 (edit: now ~30) people have hate-watched Walt Bismarck's 'Wife the Girl', from here: https://www.rintrah.nl/my-case-against-having-children/. Cartoons are irresistible. A sharp thing about watching something online, alone, is that you and the video can let it all hang out without anyone else around, with it either speaking to you, or at least scratching your surface. I saw a comment - I forget where, probably /pol/ - where someone said that they were shown 'The Greatest Generation' and they hated it, but it stayed with them and annoyed them for weeks, maybe months, but they finally had to acknowledge what it said. So hate-watching can be good, too. Truth forms up in some form inside you, and outside expressions of that truth will connect with it a little bit (which is why the 'n-word' is so verboten). And cartoons and humor help it get past initial resistance. What did Murdoch say in AtH? "... we the romantics have our own spells." (Not quite what I was after.) "But perhaps there is magic, and we need only to learn patience."

2023-09-03: I don't know where, or whether, to put this: The Otter Diaries - a cute + meme-y af rendering of the first few chapters of 'The Turner Diaries'. From the MM thread on frenschan.org.
AtH: Flying free around the space of fonts for chapter headings. I need some constraints. Sans Serif, yes. The usual rule when you have too many choices is to just pick one, but, I want one that has character, but doesn't draw attention to itself. FML. I've seen someone say that Lucida Sans and Gil Sans go well with Palatino, but they're too plain, something. Liberation Sans is ok for plain, DejaVu Sans, too, Alef looks good, but is probably by a Jew (kek). Several others look ok but are mostly boring. Given that I've got to pack the chapter title, the chapter number, and the header image at the top of the page, there isn't much space to make the chapter title large, so it doesn't dominate, fill its space. That's partly why some character would be nice. I'm using Writer Anon's LaTeX Kaobook design, 'Chapter Title | 01', but that was for a very wide page, maybe it doesn't suit a 6" / 5.5"-wide book. It looked good, though. I don't want to reinvent the wheel, but ... Bite the bullet and spell out 'Chapter 7 / The Vampiric Bankers and their Great Anti-Semite' / header image? Two different problems really. Y'know .... since it's going to be multiple printings, I'll have time to refine it if I feel like it. I really should get it out before the 2 year anniversary of its release(!) which is in sight.

2023-09-02: Discovered Matthew Drake. The 'design aim' of the site is to put out easy-to-digest material for low-attention-span internet people, since I am one myself anymore and I'm sure most people are. I think I'll use at least some of his stuff.
Got visited by the GPTBot -

user agent: "Mozilla/5.0 AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko; compatible; GPTBot/1.0; +https://openai.com/gptbot)"
. Will the site make it that little bit more 'based'? No, I keep everything 'based' out of bot view, to keep it off of 'internet safety' blacklists. Should I set up a little piece of opinion about Murdoch Murdoch, that is open to bots? I guess 'about-mm' is open. edit: Oh, wow - the 'parent's guide' is also open, and that might put it on blacklists for kids, too. Speaking of the parent's guide, I could take screenshots. But you know, rather not force it into people's consciousness and let people deny it to themselves, because they're enjoying the overall show. Yeah, that's the ticket. It feels silly, anyway.

2023-09-01: Broke (+ fixed) the sound on many Walt Bismarcks, in re-rendering them at 1080p. Something about the .mkvs that youtube-dl produces. Bismarck's videos are mostly at 1080p, but his sources couldn't have been that hi-res (could they? 2016 - sure, blu ray was made in 2006, but when was it cracked, though? Ah, 2007. Ok, nevermind. Several are clearly not blu ray, though.)
Listening closely to what Taylor Swift says at the end of Meme Magic, while the Murdochs and Pierce talk. She starts out with '... and I am tired of it.' Broken chunks of her speech repeat as background she-is-still-talking-on-the-TV, but finally Murdoch lets her finish what she's saying and she says, "I am ready to dedicate myself to national socialism. ... Come and join me in the final battle to save white people'. Kek.

2023-08-30: blog: On optics, there's the Jungian idea that, when you transition from one mindset to another, you must pass through chaos in-between. (And it can't be any other way.) Lenin apparently tolerated radical + destructive modernist Soviet art despite disliking it, because it acted to upset the existing order (Jonathan Bowden's talk on Wyndham Lewis - search for 'Lenin'), and chaos is wet clay. Well, if the current foundations - merit, nature - are being destroyed by the ruling ideology, maybe there'll be more purchase for the ideas in a funny cartoon that is refreshingly earnest and strongly felt, and says something partly recognizable (tradition), and partly different (national socialism).
AtH: Worked on the chapter headers.
Put a couple 'new' pieces of merch up (no new art). Turned off 'hide from search engines', though I doubt it will make any difference. Also found that I need to give a 1099 before I can take profit (~$47 currently). Suits me (I try to earn $0). But well ... why not? most things are in my own name anyway. (But it's one more avenue to be doxxed through. Eh, Murdoch did it.)
Traffic continues its slow decline, but according to my own 'new ips' script, I'm getting a fair amount of new people. (I assume 1 desktop IP is 1 user, but I have found that my own home connection will often use 2 IPs. Even with '2 IPs is the new 1 IP', it's a good number of new people (but that may be my out-of-date desktop-vs-mobile phone detection :( )). New people are great, but I can't tell, much, where they're coming from, because websites and browsers hide 'referers' nowadays. Maybe Elon tolerates MM on twitter, and that's where it's coming from. Would make sense. Can you put a 'poster' (preview image) on a .webm? Yes.
Watched a 'He Man' episode, and it looks like Zoar is styled after it - it uses a lot of the same music.

2023-08-28: AtH: I had estimated it would come out to 200 pages at 6"x9", but it's only 125 pages. That's 0.282 inches, for spine thickness. I don't know how much dropping down to 5.5"x8.5" would thicken it. It wouldn't be very much work to make 5x8, 5.5"x8.5" versions, I haven't done the nit-picky work yet. Probably 5.5"x8.5". ~7mm - not that bad. Still, want to make it more proportional. Ehn, maybe being 'thin' and 'just a few pages', will make people more inclined to actually read it.
Made the 'thousands' separator in the subtitles international, using spaces instead of commas.

2023-08-27: AtH: Wow, the earlier printing of AtH was pulled off of amazon (Kindle, paperback). So we're back at my original understanding of the world, that: we'll have to jump from printer to printer, and that people will have to buy fast. So, lulu.com or IngramSpark, that distributes to multiple outlets. (Fortunately there are many self-publishing services.)
AtH: Kicked off (hopefully) a thing. Doing the chapter headings.
Blog: Why does The Cruel Fate of Kekistan 'feel', artistically, like such a good episode? I was / am already well-convinced against civic nationalism, and you can't say the episode is inspiring. I think it's because it's got the most moving parts; many characters who play different, yet interacting, roles, and, the Murdochs aren't on their own turf (one reason I like Wanderer's Choice, too). It has three sub-plots (aus. v Kekistan (Kekistan itself is reasonably well fleshed-out), DM and Southern, MM + MC investigating poor Rage. Is there any other episode with as many characters? (Guardian's s*-posters are kind of a single character imo). And the 'drum baseline', so to speak, is those australopithepedes, with their great Dr Murdoch voices (how lucky that Murdoch's irl friend was such a great voice actor). edit: Maybe it's because it's the only MM episode that passes a sort of Bechdel test(*) for MM: non-MM characters talk to each other. Is there any other episode where this happens? (*) The usual criteria of the Bechdel Test are (1) that at least two women are featured, (2) that these women talk to each other, and (3) that they discuss something other than a man. The MM version is, non-MM characters talk to each other. Interesting. Oh - I guess Ghosts of America has that. What else? (sketches don't count). Wanderer's Choice - but the kids and Mosley are honorary Murdochs. Guardian, the s* posters.

2023-08-25: Moved the 'Always the Horizon' and merch links from the front page, to 'For Fans'. Murdoch said that AtH was for 'those in the know', and it's not something you'd want to expose to an innocent normie (my $0.02). I moved it also to make way for whenever the upcoming printing is ready. I put the merch store in there too - the front page is for new people.

2023-08-24: AtH: chose Film Cryptic for the voice of Nihilism and got it all laid in. You can't see the erosion specifically at 14 pts, but it probably helps makes it thin, and gives it a sense of waveriness.

2023-08-23: Fixed the download for 'Hold Back the Night' - it was mis-capitalized. Filled in a few more HLS videos up to 1080p. Sadly, even HLS at 1080p (and crf of 19) isn't original .mp4 quality, though you'd be hard pressed to point out differences. It's real diminishing returns.
AtH: Should I make the chapter header pictures bigger? They're pretty. We'll be paying for color, I should use it.

2023-08-18: Major, and old bugs found - the full .mp4 files for 'Back to the Faggot' and 'The Cruel Fate of Kekistan' were incomplete! So people will have downloaded them, and they won't play. They've been that way since forever. They were that way in the .torrent files, too. Fixed, but, yeesh. I did a quick 'audit' of the rest (Found 'Cruel' that way), except for the very largest ones. I remember after my initial upload (+ fixes) thinking I should check the sizes, but thought that was too autistic. Be sure your sins will find you out. Still not checking sizes, but manually 'played' them from here. Didn't check the announcements or anything else, though :(.

2023-08-16: Put in local (on-site) links for several Jared Taylor videos. The idea isn't to steal traffic from Amren's bitchute or amren.com, but mostly because I keep hearing Europeans on /pol/ say that many bitchute videos are blocked off to them (and if bitchute videos are, amren itself surely must be, too). No one has complained to me wrt videos I point at here, but, it takes effort to complain, and, people tend not to. I admit, I don't like for people to have to transition between this website and another one - it's struck me, that people don't watch the videos I point to, that much (I count their views) (thinking, Eldred of Wessex's Bowden videos, and Jack Gladder's Murdoch Murdoch Tribute). But, giving people their well-earned (you)s is the right thing to do. But also, I just hate relying on bitchute. None of those videos had problems, but, you never know when bitchute will drop them. People can still reach the originals, though I know I personally would probably not to want to bother to leave the site.
AtH: Printed, what, ~20 new candidates for the Nihilism character (there are ~80 x 24 ~= 1900 eroded fonts). Am I overdoing it? Maybe, but if I get it right, it'll be a nice touch. I'm pretty pleased with the header images, which I took forever over, they look decent in their small form, and that's causing me to take extra pride in the rest, for good or ill.

2023-08-11: AtH: I thought I had a solution to Nihil vs smallcaps - smallcaps Nihil. Well, Nihil just looks like the printer is running out of ink. Maybe the dot-matrix one (ech) or the thin, 'data' one (no). Why do I fuss with it, why not just use the ok-ish original that Writer Anon had? Because, I could imagine it looking good - Nihil is almost there, it just needs to be a bit darker.

2023-08-07: AtH: If using Nihil is a bad choice, how bad is it? Maybe not using a novelty font leaves it to the reader's imagination. I didn't really like Writer Anon's smallcaps, though. The atheist doesn't consider her a threat, she seems like a little girl. Rahr. Maybe I'll just use smallcaps that I like better. Eh, I like Nihil better than I like smallcaps. It looks undefined and insidious.
blog: ~58 mins into this Richard Spencer interview, when asked whether he's still an identitarian, he says he's for something bigger, something more compelling. Recently I learned that even Savitri Devi was a sort of cosmotheist, wanting to breed the Aryan race toward something beyond (not sure I've got it all, but...). I guess it's no wonder Murdoch wound up in that same direction. Pierce called it the natural religion, maybe it is.

2023-08-05: AtH: Laid in the Negros' font - left as Comic Neue - TLF (Google's free version of Comic Sans), as Writer Anon had it.

2023-08-03,04: Uploaded the books: The Foundations of the 19th Century, and The Mythology of the Aryan Nations, Nietzsche's 'The Birth of Tragedy'. These are uploaded .pdfs, but not integrated into Dasein Mythos' web page, which has a scheme to it. I'd like to rework that scheme, to incorporate Cis White Male With Extra Privilege's audio readings of every book Murdoch recommended, Alex Linder's audiobooks, maybe FLOOD's AI readings, as well as worldcat.org, amazon, abebooks.com, and project Gutenberg links for all books. I need to check that I have them all, too. A correspondent pointed out the lack of these 3, but I think more are missing. And, how the heck are you supposed to 'keep your place' in these .pdfs? Someone needs to clean them up. I should (but it's a big job, I probably won't) try to make them all readable on an e-reader. But you know, with OCR and Scribus it's doable - they don't have to be actually printed, just nicely formatted, like Styx makes his living doing, with occult books. Many are thoroughly out of copyright. There could be some mutual benefit with Project Gutenberg. Room there for some autists with time on their hands to do a lot of good work.
(How come there isn't a newer equivalent of 'Mythology of the Aryan Nations'? Probably it'd be called 'Indo-European Mythology', now (ah, indeed - amazon). Newer ones are probably less racial.) 'Foundations' and 'Mythology' are 600+ pages each - Murdoch sure read a lot.
For the ~20 (non-bot) people who read back here, there is this 296-book mega.nz collection of seemingly every Jew-related book ever, and a lot of other stuff of interest to nationalists. (It doesn't have 'Germany Must Die' and one or two others I'd like to see, though.) More books, many of them very edgy, while I'm at it.

2023-07-31: Pulled back the color change of subs on Safari (the color change was due to moving away from Apple's native implementation to vtt.js). But, that caused cues to be dropped occasionally, maybe because the JS implementation is slower than Safari's native one. Too bad. edit: I've noticed that Android, too, like Safari, doesn't show subtitles when the video is maximised. Haven't found a solution yet.

2023-07-30: Wow, brought subtitles in Safari (Apple's browser) into line with every other platform I have access to (Chrome-based, Firefox, Android. I guess I could try Opera for drill edit: Opera has apparently never supported HLS.). Now they show by default (if you've chosen the 'subs' version), and, they're now yellow and transparent (but W*&$#%W$%W$%, when you maximize the video they go away :( ). There are still things to fix (font is too small on small devices), but, this is major. Wonder whether the 'goes away when maximized' ruins them for people broadcasting episodes to their TVs, though. Write in, anyone, if anyone reading this has problems.

2023-07-29: Put up links to Jonathan Bowden talking about Devi, under the episode details for 'Against Time'. The site being an alt-right scrapbook (with Murdoch Murdoch as the entrypoint) isn't a terrible idea, there's a lot of value to organizing and curation.
blog: The JQ bubbling up (a completely normie friend asked what was with the buzz about Jews) changes the optics balance so much - I wonder if it wouldn't, even, be a positive thing, now, to show 'merchants' and so on? The biggest thing is to appeal to middle schoolers. Merchants are visually interesting ('what are they?') and comic, whatever else. It really is a meme war.

2023-07-26: AtH: I really like Nihil, even printed at 12 pt. Yes, the corroded aspect doesn't show much, but it looks wobbly, uncertain, the very voice of doubt. Is it gauche to use 'novelty' fonts in books? Creates interest, hm. I don't see why not. Is it dumbing-down the book? Not treating it with respect? Ey, it's a novella. And it's for people who love cartoons. And it has pictures (and the next version will have more pictures!). F* it, I want it to be special and enjoyed. I don't know.
Next I need to pick the Negro's font. I won't pick fonts for every character though - these were all that Writer Anon did.

2023-07-22: AtH: Thin (cuz rational), broken (cuz corroded), swirly and things fold back into itself because self-pitying (or stunted, if you can express that in a font). There is a 'Mindless Self Indulgence' font, and it's kind of broken up. And a 'Nihilist Philosophy' font. Fractur, Nikona. A whole page of them. 'Nihil' looks decent. Haakke - meant to look childish. 'Wounds' - like you're dealing with a demon (or just extra edgy). 'Nihil' puts you off base (you don't know what to make of it right away), which is good. Sometimes it looks cute, sometimes it looks menacing. (Would be too convenient if the best font was called 'Nihil'.)

2023-07-20: AtH: Beccaria doesn't look good at body-text font size, the 'scratchiness' doesn't come through, even at 600 dpi. Perhaps fittingly, a dot-matrix printer font, Igiari, does.

2023-07-18: AtH pajeeting: Well. Might choose a different font for Nihilism's speech, than 'Palatino small caps' (partway through body text for chapter 11). Needs to be sans serif anyway, which Palatino isn't. Darn, I dislike open-ended 'artistic' choices. (And while I'm on the subject, it turns out that the Gill Sans font is tainted - the designer (long dead) was a convicted pedo. Not sure I want to revisit that choice, though. Does the 'pedoness' come across in the font? Does using it support pedos, somehow? 'Lato' is a similar Google version, but I don't like leftwing-style 'purity spiraling' anyway. Will consider. It might bug someone, even if it doesn't (much), me.) One good thing about using Scribus and doing this all by hand, is that Nihilism's words will wrap across lines properly. (In the LaTeX version, they sometimes jutted into the margin (here, pages 88-90) for reasons I don't know.) To me, the voice of Nihilism is the voice of doubt. Maybe I should re-read it before I switch away from generic small caps (which is what Murdoch said he liked - or liked, at least, that Writer Anon made her voice have a different font). Don't want to use some 'novelty' font, with too strong of an effect, though, because that can get old. Hmmm. Beccaria looks pretty good actually - it's thin, but also corroded (and maybe, corrosive, and eerie). The Nihilism character isn't only icy rationalism personified, she's mean, too (edit: and self-pitying). Hum. Does using a novelty font like that, though, make it too cartoonish, too read-once-and-done? edit: Use different fonts for different moods? Or would that be where it gets, eye-roll-provoking and cartoonish? Or would it show malice, something being manipulative. Murdoch already has nihilism personified (in good, cartoon (or rather, dramatic) fashion, maybe). Being over-the-top clear might fit that. But, eh, it'd probably draw too much attention to itself (the technique, that is), be distracting. I guess I won't.

2023-07-17: AtH: Dropped the body text in through chapter 9. Earlier had a bug in Scribus, which, happily, I seem to have worked around. (There's lots of fiddling left, but progress is progress.)
Found out which movie it is that Murdoch flies past in Guardian, with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck - 'Roman Holiday' (1953). It's 'The Mouth of Truth', where legend says that if you put your hand in and are given to lying, it'll bite your hand off. Is the truth aspect significant (why not, it's a theme, wrt the Holocaust), or, was it just an interesting scene between two greats of European (ok, white) film-making?

2023-07-12: AtH: Chapter headings: Perpetua looks good on its own, but not with Palatino; Florentia, Gill Sans, Lucida Sans (both of these later look ok as all caps).

2023-07-11: AtH: Have settled on Paletino Linotype for the body text ('... Light' is too light). It just reads ... like buttah. And going by myself, I don't read so good anymore, and I want the book to be as easy as possible for people to read. That it's based on Italian Renaissance writing seemed fitting, too, somehow (old, but forward-looking, too, maybe).
The (temporary) boost of traffic, back to 'normal' levels, makes me take the site and its mission more seriously. (That, and someone writing to thank me for it.) Lots of things I let slide, that I want to re-examine. And it lets me see Murdoch Murdoch with new eyes, like I imagine new people seeing it. Watching Metamorphosis, tells you (I imagine!) what a serious journey this is, and how important, to the author. And to us all, if it resonates with you. This is what (I will dare to say) Murdoch meant by 'soul' - that what he wrote / animated about, were things that were on, or were recently on, his mind - he's in his animation + storytelling. It's for him, too. The 'soul' that the series has, is Murdoch's.
I wonder why more people didn't take this thing (overall fate of white-kind) head-on like Murdoch did? In a sense it's low-hanging fruit - the survival of our people. Who wouldn't find that compelling, and make art about it? (I guess SAGA's 'Ode to a Dying People' does. But why not more?)
I wonder what the perfect 'red-pilling path' is, among the episodes? Jumping around MM will give it in small doses. You know what Murdoch didn't cover? The craziness of transsexuality, and, pedophilia (he touches on the latter in Real Red Pill Blues, of course). But this outbreak happened after him, and it's not really 'in our way' like race and Jews are. Possible path: 'When My Brothers' for initial shock, 'Rabbit Hole', as reaction (read books, find out what's going on - the central bank stuff is a distraction, maybe, for this use), 'Real Red Pill Blues', 'Metamorphosis'. 'Last Son'(?). 'Against Time'(? for, "don't settle - you cannot fight lies with more lies"). 'Coniugator'. 'Guardian'(? relationship with philosophers; 'universe knowing itself' if you swing that way). 'Always the Horizon'.

2023-07-10: AtH: ... Times New Roman, Georgia ...
Huh. Could have Always the Horizon read in Oswald Mosley's speech voice, for about $50, in two months, or $100, in one month (AtH has ~210K characters). Mosley Speeches. Wow. Looks like I can choose the era, youthful vs older, etc. Also: (other text-to-speech systems) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhArHsfsLAQ . tacotron2

2023-07-09: AtH: Made printed samples of the fonts I am considering for the body text: Palatino, Palatino LT, Crimson Text, Minion, Jenson, Caslon, Free Serif, Liberation Serif, and tex-gyre-pagella, each at 11.5 and 12.0 pt.
Hmm, big week for MYTHOS (relatively) - 153 references from parts unknown, and 219 from twitter. But, I can't see where any of them come from :(.
Touching up the subs for Against Time for the nth time, I noticed that DM's "He really does love me" at the end, ties in to his acting like a battered girlfriend / wife, at the beginning. Give him / them credit, he / they were always trying out ideas.

2023-07-04: Greatly improved the 'Various Art' top level.
AtH + blog: Choosing fonts for the main body. Would ideally like it to look: old, and spiritual (somehow), and yet be very easy to read. Have printed with Caslon, tex-gyre-pagella (a free version of something or other), and Palatino. Looking at a few more.
